The New Technologies Department is supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure to ensure excellence in design, development, testing, quality assurance, and operational reliability across advanced technological systems. This integrated environment enables end-to-end lifecycle support, from early prototyping and validation to certification and sustainment, while ensuring traceability, repeatability, and compliance with demanding defence and security standards.
Automated Testing Equipment (ATE)
AKMON has developed and deployed a proprietary Automated Testing Equipment (ATE) platform for electronic systems. This platform enhances manufacturing efficiency and verifies the correct operation of electronic components and electrical harnesses. ATE automatically assess electrical integrity and functionality by checking continuity, insulation resistance, and short circuits, ensuring compliance with design specifications and dependable performance in complex wiring assemblies.
X-Ray Inspection System
Advanced X-ray inspection system is utilized for connectors and printed circuit boards (PCBs) to identify internal defects such as solder joint anomalies, misalignments, and micro-cracks. This non-destructive, high-resolution inspection technique reveals hidden faults that are not visible through conventional inspection methods, ensuring high quality and reliability of electronic assemblies.
Computer Vision Laboratory
The Computer Vision Laboratory features a high-precision Vision Measurement Platform that provides fully automated, stable, and accurate quality control. By simultaneously measuring hundreds of predefined inspection points based on specified tolerances and acceptance criteria, the system significantly reduces human intervention, shortens inspection cycles, and minimizes risk.
Clean Room and EO Sensors Laboratory
A dedicated clean room with tightly controlled temperature, humidity, and particulate levels supports the preventive maintenance of electro-optical (EO) and laser sensors. These controlled conditions help maintain sensor accuracy, extend operational life, and ensure long-term reliability.
Chemical Laboratory
The Chemical Laboratory conducts detailed chemical analyses to confirm material compliance with specifications at all stages—prior to production, during manufacturing, and in final products. The facility is fully equipped for sample and standard preparation, supporting a broad range of analytical testing processes.
Special Equipment Calibration Laboratory
The advanced laboratory provides high-precision calibration of specialized tools, electronic systems, and mission-critical equipment. It supports missile fault diagnosis, re-certification, and operational readiness at both system and subsystem levels.
Battery Testing Laboratory
The Battery Testing Laboratory performs comprehensive evaluations to ensure battery safety, reliability, and performance, including:
- Mechanical stress testing
- Leak testing using specialized instrumentation
- Insulation testing
- Electrical performance testing
- Environmental testing under varying operating conditions
Private Data Centre
The department operates a modern private data centre that delivers secure, reliable, and scalable IT infrastructure. Designed with advanced technologies, strong cybersecurity controls, energy-efficient systems, and built-in redundancy, the data centre ensures high availability, optimal performance, and uninterrupted continuity for mission-critical operations.
